WHEN WE PRAY part 3

HELPING WHEN HELPLESS

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.  If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:5-8

Jesus’ Invitation: REMAIN in me and ASK whatever you wish

God’s Promise: Whatever we ask God for in accordance with His CHARACTER and His WILL, He will say yes to.

What gives us confidence?

You have ACCESS to the King.

You are joining in the work of JESUS and THE SPIRIT.

…Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Romans 8:34

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:26-27

How do I pray?

Be BOLD

Be SPECIFIC

Be PERSISTENT
