Day 12

More from 21 Days of Prayer

Teaching Notes

Scripture Focus:
This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
 hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
Matthew 6:9-13

Prayer Focus: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

Protection: God’s activity in our life to guard us from sin & evil. [Eph. 6:10-20]

Personal: Have you ever wondered why when you’re really trying to follow God everything seems to start falling apart all around you? Pray for spiritual protection & the discernment to identify the attacks of the enemy. He’s an accuser and a liar. What truth do you need to believe today that stands in opposition to our enemy, Satan? What temptation do you need God’s help to overcome?

Communal: Pray for God’s protection over our community. Pray that we would learn to draw our strength from God when facing temptation. Pray that we would learn how to find refuge in God and that we would learn how to quickly identify temptations and to stand strong in overcoming them. Pray that our leadership (i.e. staff, leadership council, volunteers, etc.) would stand firm in integrity and purity of heart.
