Is Jesus really the only way?

Teaching Notes

Is Jesus really the only way to God or just one path among many?

Do all paths lead to the same God?

Very clearly in the Scriptures, we see God communicating that there is only one way to experience salvation, forgiveness, and peace with Him – and that is through faith in Jesus and what He did on the cross.

(John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Acts 4:12, 1 John 5:12)

Are the verses in the Bible that claim there is one way to God arrogant, unloving, and divisive?

It’s not arrogance or unloving to believe in something that is true to be true. It may mean believing something isn’t true, but that’s not arrogance or unloving – it's just believing in truth.

In the beginning GOD created…

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning, people worshiped one God

From the moment humans rebelled against God, we see that God promised redemption and a way of forgiveness to come. Someone was coming….

The story then continues that human beings were in a rebellion-oriented posture, and the fallout of sin influenced people to begin determining their own ways of operating (slavery, polygamy, misogyny) – and creating their own gods and spiritual belief systems.

All these new faiths developed – but going all the way back to the beginning, Jesus, the Savior who is God with us, was prophesied about long before and during the time other world religions were being birthed.

There is only one God, and Jesus is the way to God.

It isn’t then divisive, arrogant, or judgmental of other faiths to believe that if it is true.

What about those who never hear the name of Jesus as the one way to God or follow other faiths?

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

Have you put faith in Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life?
