Consider the Flowers
Why does it feel like the more we get, the less we have of what matters most? More money but less peace. More things, but we enjoy less. We are more connected yet feel all the more alone. More hustle but less time. Ever striving but never arriving. We live overworked, anxiety-soaked lives that all too often leave us empty and weary. Is this just the way life is supposed to be? Have you ever stopped to ask the question—Is there another way? How do we get more of what matters most?

Listening Sessions
We will be hosting Listening Sessions on THIS Sunday, November 12th, after both services Room 29! A Listening Session is a short and informal time for anyone new who may have questions about Awakening, or if you have been here for years and would like to provide our leadership with feedback on anything that is currently right, wrong, confused or missing with Awakening. As we want to be a church that is growing in our effectiveness, it is imperative that we hear from you, the church body, to ensure we are serving and equipping you in the best possible way. Events & Design Team Advent Planning Meeting
It’s (almost!) beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we are eager for your collaboration to help get us there! Join our Events & Design Team’s Advent at Awakening planning meeting on THIS Sunday, November 12th, at 9:30am (first service) in the Library. Whether you’re already part of Events & Design or curious to know more about this ministry, you’re invited to join us to brainstorm on how we can all work together to bring our Advent experience to life! Calling all Youth Parents
Come meet other parents of teenagers! Whether it’s your first time at Awakening or you’ve been around for years, we want you there. This is for ALL parents of youth (6-12th grade) and their kids. Join us THIS Sunday, November 12th, 10:45am-11:15am under the Youth Tent in the quad for coffee, donuts, and a time to connect with one another!
YP Friendsgiving is Near
If you are a Young Professional we would love to have you come share a meal with us at our YP Friendsgiving Potluck! Join us THIS Sunday, November 12th, 5-7pm at the Awakening Church Offices (1210 S Bascom, San Jose, CA). Maintenance for Moms
Maintenance for Moms is hosting their annual Thanksgiving event, Moms-Giving on Tuesday, November 21st from 4-6:30pm and are looking for volunteers! They will be distributing meals to 50 families and are looking for volunteers to help with food prep, and meal distribution. Click the link below to learn more and volunteer!
Del Mar Giving Tree
We’ve always said Del Mar is more than just a place to meet but a people to love. Our annual Giving Tree provides students nominated by their teachers a chance to have their Christmas wishes come true!
You can participate in 2 ways: take a tag off the tree and return them at church by 12/17 OR you can give online or via check and specify the gift to “Compassion Projects” fund where it we will be a monetary gift that will go towards the Del Mar Giving Tree. (Donations to the Compassion Projects fund may be tax deductible and will appear on the individuals’ year-end giving statements).
This will begin on November 26th and go through December 17th. Thank you for your generosity!
Food Pantry | Every 1st & 3rd Thursday
As a church, we have a partnership with CityTeam and Del Mar High School to bring a mobile food pantry to our community in San Jose! This happens every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month from 3pm-5pm. We encourage you to sign up today as we are always in need of more volunteers!
