Why does it feel like the more we get, the less we have of what matters most? More money but less peace. More things, but we enjoy less. We are more connected yet feel all the more alone. More hustle but less time. Ever striving but never arriving. We live overworked, anxiety-soaked lives that all too often leave us empty and weary. Is this just the way life is supposed to be? Have you ever stopped to ask the question—Is there another way? How do we get more of what matters most?
Join us this Sunday for week 1 as we go through Luke 12:13-21!
INTRO
Awakening’s Connect Track is your pathway to community and a space designed for you to experience belonging and getting to know us more as a church. Our Intro class is an in-depth look at our story as a church, hearing your story, and where you fit in here. Intro walks you through our philosophy of ministry and gives you the opportunity to start serving with us through joining a ministry, depending on your interest and spiritual gifts!
Join us on THIS Sunday, November 5th from 1pm-3pm in the Teachers Lounge (to the right of the Library)! Lunch will be provided.
*Registration required for childcare and due by November 1st.
YP Gathering
If you are a Young Professional (post college) and are looking for community alongside other YP’s, this is for you! This Thursday, November 2nd, from 7-8:30pm our first YP Gathering will be taking place at the Awakening Offices (1210 S Bascom, San Jose, CA). Join us and bring a friend for a night of discipleship and snacks as we hear teaching from our Executive Pastor, Dave Smith. See you there!
Listening Sessions
We will be hosting Listening Sessions on November 12th after both services Room 29! A Listening Session is a short and informal time for anyone new who may have questions about Awakening, or if you have been here for years and would like to provide our leadership with feedback on anything that is currently right, wrong, confused or missing with Awakening. As we want to be a church that is growing in our effectiveness, it is imperative that we hear from you, the church body, to ensure we are serving and equipping you in the best possible way. Events & Design Team Advent Planning Meeting
It’s (almost!) beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we are eager for your collaboration to help get us there! Join our Events & Design Team’s Advent at Awakening planning meeting on November 12, Sunday at 9:30am (first service) in the Library. Whether you’re already part of Events & Design or curious to know more about this ministry, you’re invited to join us to brainstorm on how we can all work together to bring our Advent experience to life! Maintenance for Moms
Maintenance for Moms is hosting their annual Thanksgiving event, Moms-Giving on Tuesday, November 21st from 4-6:30pm and are looking for volunteers! They will be distributing meals to 50 families and are looking for volunteers to help with food prep, and meal distribution. Click the link below to learn more and volunteer!
Food Pantry | Every 1st & 3rd Thursday
As a church, we have a partnership with CityTeam and Del Mar High School to bring a mobile food pantry to our community in San Jose! This happens every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month from 3pm-5pm. We encourage you to sign up today as we are always in need of more volunteers!
