Is there any light at the end of this tunnel?
The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
Isaiah 9:2
Why are we afraid of the dark?
In the Bible, Darkness represent the evil and brokenness in our world.
- Light guides and directs us.
- Light brings life.
- Light is beautiful.
What are you looking to light your way?
“In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
John 1:4-5
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12
The Christmas message is that Jesus is the LIGHT of the WORLD.
How can this light be yours?
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— (John 1:9-12)
