201: The Profile of a Disciple | Part 1

We exist to awaken this generation to new life in Jesus.

“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”

- Mahatma Gandhi

How do we return to Jesus’ vision for His followers?

How do we become a people that looks more and more like Jesus?

“CHRISTIAN” & THE GREAT COMMISSION

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

  • Power: Jesus has ALL AUTHORITY.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

  • Purpose: Jesus calls His DISCIPLES to make DISCIPLES.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

We first have to BE a disciple before we can MAKE disciples.

The greatest issue facing the world today, with all its heartbreaking needs, is whether those who, by profession or culture, are identified as ‘Christians’ will become disciples – students, apprentices, practitioners – of Jesus Christ, steadily learning from Him how to live the life of the Kingdom of the Heavens into every corner of human existence.

Dallas Willard, The Great Omission
