Two weeks ago at Awakening was the last night of our prayer series. Ryan closed the series with prayer focused on who God is and how He provides for us in every situation. There is something humbling about the fact that God provides for us and answers our prayers when we ask Him. Not only does He provide for us, but He delights in answering our requests. He longs to have a relationship with us. When we depend on God for our needs, and thank Him for everything that we are given, He is faithful to fulfill His promises and use us for His will.
Philippians 4:6 has been a reminder to me to rely on God and He will be faithful. I constantly worry about everything and have uncertainties about the future. This verse is a saving grace when I get overwhelmed and worried. It reminds me that God faithfully listens as we seek Him.
When I get overwhelmed and anxious I recite these words of truth to myself, praying it back to God. These words from Philippians calm my heart since I know God is listening and taking the burden off my shoulders. I hope that this verse can be as calming to you as it is to me.
