How do I experience financial peace in the midst of a pandemic?
WHAT NOT TO DO FINANCIALLY
Warning #1: Don’t HOARD it.
Now listen, you rich people, weep and wail because of the misery that is coming on you. Your wealth has rotted, and moths have eaten your clothes. Your gold and silver are corroded. Their corrosion will testify against you and eat your flesh like fire. You have hoarded wealth in the last days.
James 5:1-3
Warning #2: Never CUT CORNERS.
Look! The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord Almighty. James 5:4
Warning #3: Resist RETAIL THERAPY.
You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves in the day of slaughter. You have condemned and murdered the innocent one, who was not opposing you. James 5:5-6
THE PATH TO FINANCIAL PEACE:
1.Don’t hoard it -> STEWARD it.
GIVE first. [10%]
SAVE second. [10%]
LIVE on the rest. [80%]
2. Never cut corners -> Work with INTEGRITY
Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. Proverbs 10:9
3. Resist retail therapy -> Leverage your RESOURCES for GOOD.
Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. Proverbs 14:31
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17
The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. Proverbs 22:9
