The 5 Pillars of Perspective

1. God is GOOD

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

Psalm 84:11 (NASB)

2. Life is HARD

These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 (NASB)

3. God is SOVEREIGN

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 (NASB)

4. God is all WISE

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! FOR WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, OR WHO BECAME HIS COUNSELOR? OR WHO HAS FIRST GIVEN TO HIM THAT IT MIGHT BE PAID TO HIM AGAIN? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Romans 11:33-36 (NASB)

5. God is all POWERFUL

Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.

Jeremiah 32:17 (NASB)

4 Action Steps

1. Refuse to WORRY

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NASB)

When worry knocks on the door of your heart, let PRAYER answer it.

2. Get God’s DIRECTION

Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105 (NASB)

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let Him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

James 1:5 (NASB)

Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed.

Proverbs 15:22 (NASB)

3. Develop a PLAN
The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.

Proverbs 16:9 (NASB)

Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

Proverbs 16:3 (NASB)

4. Move forward BOLDLY

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

Joshua 1:9 (NASB)
