What if Jesus is good for all people and not just some people?

How do you have a compelling faith in the heart of Silicon Valley?

COMPELLING FAITH

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

Romans 1:16

  • The Gospel is good NEWS, not good ADVICE.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel,

Gospel [Gr. Euaggelion] – lit. Good news, news that makes one happy, information that causes one joy, words that bring smiles, a message that causes the heart to be sweet.

All of Christianity hinges upon the HISTORICAL event of the RESURRECTION of Jesus.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

1 Corinthians 15:3-7

Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.

- C. S. Lewis

  • The Gospel is POWERFUL.

because it is the power of God that brings salvation

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Acts 1:8

Every follower of Jesus is EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit.

  • The Gospel is for Everyone.

to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

“The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.”

- Tim Keller

If the Gospel is so good, why don’t we share it with everyone?
