THANKSGIVING DINNER
We know that homelessness is one of the hardest things people face in our area. In addition to suffering physically, people are experiencing isolation and broken relationships with family and friends. Be a Friend Community Outreach is hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for people who have been homeless and are now living in temporary, or transitional housing. On November 23rd, we are in need of volunteers to cook, serve food, and spend time with the residents. It’s a great opportunity to pour out some of the love Jesus has poured into us! CLASS B DRIVERS NEEDED!
Be a Friend Community Outreach goes to transitional/temporary housing facilities to build friendships with people who are coming out of homelessness. Be a Friend has been going to the same facility in Downtown San Jose for over a year now to spend time with the folks there, encourage them, pray for them, and have Bible studies. However, many of them really want to come to church!!
Awakening would like to break down some barriers by providing transportation between the transitional housing facility and our church. We have a van, so all we need is for someone to drive it!
