In Week 2 of UNFOLLOW, we’ll wrestle honestly with one of the most personal and debated conversations in the Church as we explore how following Jesus reshapes the way we see women, leadership, dignity, and the heart of God.

Over a twelve-month process, the Leadership Council, pastoral staff, and select members of our church family engaged in a rigorous, prayerful journey of theological discernment, searching the Scriptures to gain clarity around one important question:

What does Scripture teach about men and women in spiritual leadership within the Church?

This was not a casual undertaking; we spent the year immersed in study, discussion, and corporate prayer to seek the heart of God and His will for our church. We experienced, in a meaningful way, the ancient Christian practice of communal discernment…something akin to what we see in Acts 15, when the early Church gathered to wrestle through a difficult theological question and sought together the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

This session facilitated by Lead Pastor, Ryan Ingram, will provide an overview of Awakening’s position on a biblical vision for men and women in spiritual leadership, with an opportunity for q & a. Join us on July 14th from 4-6pm!
