Awakening kids to the wonder of jesus
and the truth of God’s word

Early Childhood

Our heart is for kids to experience God at a young age. We believe that God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friend, and our goal is to share these truths with them as they develop from babies to preschoolers to build a foundation for the rest of their lives.

Babies (newborn – prewalking)

Our Babies room focuses on gentle care of needs as a way to share God’s love with babies and their parents.

Toddlers (walkers – 2 years)

As babies progress developmentally and begin to move independently, they move up to the Toddlers room, where the Bible is shared with them through songs, stories, and playtime.

Preschool (3 – 5 years)

Through songs, hands-on activities, and creatively told Bible stories, preschoolers are introduced to Jesus and learn how amazing He is.

Elementary

As kids journey through elementary school, our heart is for kids to know Jesus, to learn the truth of the Bible and how they fit in God’s great story. We believe that kids can know God’s character, have a relationship with Him, and begin to live as an imitator of Jesus.

Early Elementary (kinder – 3rd grade)

Kids in early elementary are concrete thinkers and are motivated by fun, so we intentionally create an environment where they can experience God through games, activities that make Scripture come alive, and conversations with other kids.

Preteen (4th & 5th grade)

Preteens have big questions about the world and how they fit in it. The goal of our preteen environment is to help kids explore their identity and faith in light of Scripture, and to create community with kids and leaders who walk with them in the years leading up to middle school.

Kids Check In

Your first stop when you arrive is the kids check in area. We want to serve you and your child well, so we’ll take some time to get to know you. We’ll ask about allergies, make sure we know what your child likes to be called, and collect your contact information.

Nametags

Each time you check in, you will receive three stickers: one for your child’s shirt, one for the classroom, and one with a matching code for you. This sticker is what you’ll use to pick up your child after church.

Drop Off

We’ll show you where your child’s classroom is, and introduce you to their teacher.

If for any reason we need to reach you during the gathering, you’ll receive a text to the phone number you provided at check in. 

At the end of service, you will pick your child up using the sticker provided at check in.

Mama’s Group

Being a mom of little kids can be a lonely time where every moment can be filled with meeting the needs of your little one. Come to Mama’s Group to have time to breathe, and be part of a community of moms who seek Jesus together through Bible study, prayer and friendship. We love you already and are excited to meet you!

17th-21st – Camp Wonder

Camp Wonder is a free, outdoor event for kids entering kindergarten through 5th grade. At Camp Wonder, kids will experience a week full of fun, laughter, water activities, and lots of God’s Word!

Safety

Our top priority is your child’s safety. It is an honor to be entrusted with your children that we don’t take lightly. We uphold high standards to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each child. We ensure that every volunteer is trained and background checked before they step into the classroom.

God’s Word

No matter how old a person is, the truth found in God’s Word remains the same. We teach the truth of the Bible in a creative, age-appropriate way that kids can understand it and hide it in their hearts for life.

Holy Spirit

When anyone accepts Jesus, they are filled with the Holy Spirit. We like to say “there is no junior Holy Spirit.” Kids have the same Holy Spirit living in them as adults do. We give kids tools to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and intentionally create space for Spirit-led worship and prayer.

Joy

Children were created to have fun and learn through fun experiences! Our heart is that kids would love following Jesus and coming to church. To help build a lifelong foundation for living in the ways of God, we carefully weave joy throughout our classrooms by giving opportunities for fun, community, serving, worship, and hands-on learning.

Kindness

Jesus commanded us to love others. To honor this command and create a safe and  joyful environment, we expect that every person in Awakening Kids treats others with kindness. This is modeled by our adult leaders and gently taught to kids.
